What it is
Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion, illustrated by Margaret Bloy Graham, tells the story of a dog who runs away to avoid a bath and gets so dirty his family no longer recognise him.
Who it's for
Children aged around 3 to 7.
Our experience
A simple, funny story that children connect with.
Honest downsides
The illustration style is old-fashioned, which some children may find less eye-catching.
